30 for UFC 200: Post 29

4 ounce gloves and Grappling

4 ounces gloves and grappling anybody has got a shot.  This sport is so unpredictable.  It’s the reason why I love it.  It’s the reason why my Draft Kings cards keep getting busted.  Let’s come across my favorite upsets or come from behind wins of all time.  We can’t even bring up the topic of upsets without talking about Michael Bisping.  Did anyone actually think that Bisping was going to beat Luke Rockhold?  I mean Luke already beat the guy once before and now Bisping is taking the fight on 12 days notice.  You can see it on Luke’s face his very calm and looked like cat toying with a mouse before he pounced for the kill.  Nope, Luke over extends on his jab and Bisping catches him with left hook over the shoulder.  After that Bisping capitalizes.  4 ounce gloves and 5 to 1 underdog wins the UFC Middleweight Title on 12 days notice.

The next fight has to go to the G.O.A.T Anderson Silva.  Basically Chael Sonnen spends 23 minutes on top of Anderson Silva grounding & pounding him.  I was in shock the whole fight. I was wondering are witnessing the end of Silva’s reign.  Nope, Chael spends 23 minutes dominating the fight but it only takes Anderson Silva a few seconds with two minutes to go to slap on a triangle and maintain his spot as champion.

What’s the old adage about an animal is at its most dangerous when its wounded.  How many times have we seen a guy get rocked or hurt and then the fighter comes in for the finish and get’s clipped himself.  I’m going to add Scott Smith vs Pete Sell and Pat Barry vs Cheick Kongo my wounded animal category.
